Terms & Conditions

The practical terms that govern accounts, learning access, payments, and use of Ascendra.

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Acceptance and accounts

By registering for, purchasing through, or using Ascendra, you agree to these terms and the policies linked below. You must provide accurate information, keep it current, protect your password and OTPs, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. Accounts and login credentials are personal and must not be shared.

Platform permissions differ for students, instructors, and administrators. A role does not authorise access beyond the features and information assigned to that account.

2. Enrolment, payments, and access

Course pages describe available payment options. A course may offer monthly access, full-course access, or both. Monthly access may unlock only the purchased month or modules, while later content remains locked until the relevant payment or access requirement is satisfied.

You must pay the displayed amount using an available method. Discounts and promotions may have additional eligibility, validity, or usage conditions and may be changed or withdrawn before purchase. PayHere payments are also subject to PayHere's applicable terms.

Returning from a payment page does not itself prove payment. Ascendra activates paid access only after a payment is successfully approved or otherwise verified through the applicable process.

3. Courses and learning activities

Courses may include recordings, streamed videos, downloadable notes or resources, quizzes, assignments, discussions, live classes, and certificates. Availability and completion requirements vary by course. A certificate may require specified attendance, progress, assessment, payment, or other eligibility conditions and is not a guarantee of employment, admission, or professional recognition.

Instructors may reasonably update content, lesson sequencing, schedules, live-class times, assessments, or supporting resources. Where a material schedule change occurs, Ascendra will use reasonable efforts to communicate it through available platform channels.

4. Content licence and intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, course and platform content is owned by or licensed to Ascendra or the relevant instructor. Enrolment gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own learning during the authorised access period.

You must not copy, record, scrape, republish, sell, resell, distribute, publicly display, bypass access controls for, or share course materials except where Ascendra expressly permits it or applicable law allows it. Downloadable resources remain subject to the same personal-use restriction.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the platform, disrupt services or live classes, impersonate others, harass users, upload unlawful or harmful material, attempt unauthorised access, compromise assessments, manipulate payments, or use automated means to extract protected content. Ascendra may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, content, payments, or the service.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address a concern. Serious fraud, security threats, unlawful conduct, or repeated violations may require immediate action. Suspension or termination does not remove payment or legal obligations already incurred.

6. Availability and third-party services

We aim to keep Ascendra available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, internet conditions, device compatibility, provider outages, security incidents, or events outside reasonable control may cause interruptions. We will use reasonable efforts to restore material platform issues.

Payments, email, SMS, hosting, video, and conferencing may rely on third-party services. Their availability and separate terms may affect your use of those functions.

7. Refunds, privacy, and liability

Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy. Our collection and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ascendra is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the platform, external services, or reliance on course outcomes. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update the platform, course features, or these terms when reasonably necessary. Material changes will take effect when published or on a later date we identify. Continued use after an effective update indicates acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Sri Lanka, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights or other protections that apply.
