Grade 9 Literature

This 12-month Grade 9 Literature course provides a clear, progressive route through close reading and critical appreciation of poetry, prose and drama through language, form, context and interpretation. It is aligned to Sri Lanka Local Syllabus O/L at Grade 9 and uses original explanations, worked examples, guided enquiry and regular consolidation to turn syllabus knowledge into confident performance. Skills gained: annotation, inference, literary analysis, comparison, evidence selection, critical writing, discussion and independent interpretation. Target students: Students progressing through Grade 9 who want a dependable weekly learning structure, purposeful practice and measured progress toward school and external assessments. Assessment approach: Reading journals, passage analysis, oral discussion, comparative responses, analytical essays and timed papers develop precise text-based argument. Teaching methodology: Learners read closely, hear texts performed, annotate patterns, test interpretations in discussion and refine evidence-led analytical writing.
